Dr. R. P. Singh is a senior retired Officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), batch of 1987, Uttar Pradesh Cadre.

An Alumnus of St. Stephen's College (Delhi University) and Sherwood College (Nainital), Dr. Singh has held charges such as Director General, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) & Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh (2018-2021) and Deputy Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), New Delhi (2013-2018), apart from various field postings and administrative positions through the course of his Service.

In his illustrious career of 35 years, Dr. Singh has demonstrated a flair for Investigative Policing, Security Operations, Investigations of Financial Frauds, Prevention of Economic Offences, Security of VIPs (including Vital Installations), Personnel Administration, and Counter-Narcotics.

Dr. Singh superannuated from the IPS on February 28, 2023. In his culminant posting, he served as Director General of Police, Training Directorate of Uttar Pradesh, where he oversaw the skill development and personnel management of the world's largest police force.

In June 2023, Dr. Singh was appointed as the Secretary of the Retired Senior Police Officers' Association of Uttar Pradesh (RESPOA). Dr Singh. is also registered in the Independent Directors' Databank of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) bearing Registration No. IDDB-NR-202306-049830.

Presently, Dr Singh serves as an Independent Director at Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. (TEIL), and is also Chairman of the CSR Committee within the company. Further, he is the Chief Advisor (Enforcement & Vigilance) for Satya Micro Capital Ltd., New Delhi, Fashnear Technologies Pvt. Ltd., (Meesho), Bangalore, and UPMA (Uttar Pradesh Microfinance Association, Lucknow.
